How many stars in the Universe? About as many grains of sand as you can get in a bucket on the beach?

I thought about this while I was on a beach once, I found I couldn’t get my head around it at all, if there were more stars in the universe than grains of sand in a bucket I would have been amazed but just look at what is said. Also to think how long it would take to just get to the nearest star to us. It’s such a shame to me that life is so difficult and that there is so much conflict (maybe rivalry is a better term) rather than harmony but that must be the way things are generally designed, life seems to be difficult at every level for some reason.
